Savage Steve Holland returns to direct new teen comedy

steve80s teen cult movie director “Savage” Steve Holland is returning to helm a new comedy, Multiplexing.  Holland is best known, at least to us Mutants, as the director of a trio of wacky 80s comedies: Better Off Dead…, One Crazy Summer, and How I Got Into College.

Variety reports:

Savage Steve Holland has come on board  to direct “Multiplexing,” revisiting the teen comedy arena of  his 1980s cult films “Better Off Dead…” and “One Crazy Summer.”

Producers are Wayne 6 Entertainment’s Mark Heidelberger, Mike Massotto and David Crump with Richard Salvatore (“The Big Wedding”) and David E Ornston. A summer shoot is planned.

Crump penned the script, which tracks a ragtag group of small town teens who get the surprise of a lifetime when the studio behind a summer tentpole release decides to premiere its film at their hometown multiplex.
