Well, I think Hell has frozen over. We actually found something good that came out of the Star Wars Holiday Special!

I saw this horrifying event when it aired in 1978. I was 13 at the time. I had seen Star Wars seven times and I was looking forward to yet another fix, this time on the small screen. I sat through the whole thing. It was like watching a slow motion car crash for two hours. I was perplexed and stunned and horrified by its badness. How could anything with the mighty name of Star Wars, with the real actors and real music and everything, reach such inconceivable depths?

Having mentioned Hell above, I can’t help wondering if this production is evidence that Lucas had made an unholy deal, only to be shafted by the Evil One. We all know such deals always go bad. I wonder….
